Gicar announces the REVAMPING and REPOWERING of its photovoltaic system


Gicar always attentive to the environmental impact of its business, has decided to update and improve (revamping) its photovoltaic system, also at the same time it will increase the production of clean energy (repowering), all this will allow it to further lower its environmental footprint.

The current photovoltaic system dates back to 2012, in those days the technology made 245 Wp panels available, by considering the physiological drop in performance, it was decided to replace them with new generation panels that will produce 410 Wp each, the old panels will be sold from a circular economy perspective.

The plant will go from a total peak power of 141 Kwp to a power of 294 Kwp with an increase of 52% using the same physical space of the roof, practically doubling the production of renewable and clean energy, which does not produce greenhouse gas emissions or other air pollutants.

Taking 2022 as an example, the old photovoltaic system made it possible to produce 17% of energy compared to needs, with the new system we expect to reach 35% we will practically double the percentage of clean energy used compared to total needs with a saving of 114 t CO2eq

Currently our energy supplier declares that 45% of the energy supplied to us comes from renewable sources, adding up what we will produce with the new photovoltaic system, will lead Gicar to use 65% of clean energy compared to its needs, excellent news in GREEN optics!!
